Synthetic vs steel rope pros/cons for winches
Synthetic rope has a benefits in comparison to wire steel rope: it’s lightweight, easy on the hands, floats in water. Steel cable will rust when exposed to the moisture and salt that winter brings, becoming brittle, breaking and snapping back at the operator under pressure. Synthetic rope does wear faster.
